2002 Season - Week 8

Little Guy in Hall of Fame

A big shout out to Aaron who last week not only enjoyed chilling out on Clearwater Beach, but made his first visit to Hooters and his first visit to the Hall of Fame with a 53 point total after Marshall Faulk found the endzone 4 times and QB Aaron Brooks scored 15 points. Record setting pace - almost This week saw Gareth and Wayne in the Premiership and Phil in the Conference surpass the 250 point mark and all three still have one person each involved in the Monday Night Game. After a poor week Gareth is slightly ahead of the trio but is on pace for a 563 point total. Last year Marcus won the Papas Fritas with 481 points, Mark scored 460 and 481 when winning in 2000 and 1999 during Marshall Faulk’s high scoring years. We have to go back to 1998 to find a 500 point champion, David Stamp beat Gully by 3 as he totalled 517. Gully won it all in 1997 with 477 points while Cheryl scored 509 in 1996. Gareth, Wayne & Phil’s target for the highest points total ever is 574 set by Johnny in the inaugral BUMS season. Trading Day 2 Remember that your second chance to put it all right is on the afternoon of Sunday November 17th from 4pm on followed by a Sky Doubleheader from week 11. For those unable to make the late game coverage here’s a great chance to watch the 6pm game in the company of your fellow BUMS and join in the banter even if you have to leave before the 9pm game. Possible match-ups for the doubleheader are New Orleans @ Atlanta, Baltimore @ Miami,Pittsburgh @ Tennessee or even Washington @ NY Giants early followed by either San Fran @ San Diego, Carolina @ Tampa Bay or Denver @ Seattle in the late game. Remember Trading Day 2 has always proved to be the crucial time to set your team up for it’s end of season run. Put Nov 14th in your diary now. Thanksgiving Day Doubleheader We understand that Sky are showing both the Thanksgiving Day games live on Thursday 28th November, however three key BUMS will be at Moby that night so we will be getting together to watch them during the following day. Cheryl will be cooking up a Thanksgiving Feast for all who can take the day off work and enjoy Thanksgiving at the Coopers. With Trading Day 2 weeks prior you get two November chances to enjoy Cheryl’s fantastic fayre. BUMS on Seats There is no MNF this week but on Sunday we are at BUMS HQ from 9pm to see the Battle of the Bay as the Oakland Raiders try to right their ship against neighbours San Francisco .
