2002 Season - Week 6

BUMS Big Sunday

Stick this in your diary it’s gonna be a big one. Trading Day 2 will be at 4pm on Sunday November 17th followed by a Sky Doubleheader from week 11. For those unable to make the late game coverage here’s a perfect opportunity to make your key team changes and then kick back with some BUMS snacks, much NFL banter and watch the 6pm game even if you have to leave before the 9pm game. Possible match-ups for the doubleheader are New Orleans @ Atlanta, Baltimore @ Miami,Pittsburgh @ Tennessee or even Washington @ NY Giants early followed by either San Fran @ San Diego, Carolina @ Tampa Bay or Denver @ Seattle in the late game. Remember Trading Day 2 has always proved to be the crucial time to set your team up for it’s end of season run. Put Nov 14th in your diary now. H’s House of Horrors As mentioned last week Andy H needed 4 points from his new receiver David Terrell in the Monday Night game to make the Hall of Fame for the first time since 1995. Terrell plays for H’s favourite team Da Bears who were against Green Bay in an important inter-Divisional match-up. So it was with a sense of anticipation that we arrived at H’s on Wednesday the game. Sadly The Packers played the Bears off the park. Worse, in the final quarter David Terrell got behind the Packers DB’s for a certain TD only to be overthrown by QB Jim Miller. Even worse, Terrell did not score and H was left out of the Hall. To really rub salt into the wounds we found out after the game that Terrell broke a bone in his right foot on that play and will be out for 7 to 8 weeks. 200 up and still running In the Premiership Gareth passed the 200 barrier when Torry Holt scored for the Rams against the mighty Raiders (Doh!), while in the Conference Phil moved passed 200 during the Sunday night game as his kicker Jason Elam scored 16 points for Denver. Phil is on 212 points with Shaun Alexander still to play on Monday Night Football (and remember he got 5 TD’s in the featured Sunday night game two weeks ago). BUMS on Seats There is no MNF this week as we are getting together from 7:30pm at Johnny’s to watch the England Macedonia game - as always all are welcome. The Coopers are off to America on Friday for a week to do some extra research so Cheryl and Marcus can work out how to avoid the drop, Aaron can get promoted and the Chief can prevent his customary second half of the season slump (now that’s BUMS NFL dedication). Therefore it’s back to Johnny’s in Harrow next Sunday from 6pm for Sky’s Doubleheader featuring Buffalo @ Miami and Washington @ Green Bay. Next Wednesday (23rd Oct) it’s back to H’s for the Monday Night Game between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh.
