2002 Season - Week 3
Hall of Fame Again
We have seen new entries into the Hall of Fame in back to back weeks after Wayne had a very productive Sunday Night Game between Atlanta and Cincinnati. His kicker Jay Feely and Wide Receiver Brian Finneran combined for 24 points and Wayne followed Daz into the Hall of Fame with a final weekly total of 54 points (the equal 14th highest score ever).
Ton Up
After just the third week 4 owners have moved into triple figures. With 115 points Gareth leads the Premiership followed by David Stamp and Wayne on 101 while Phil leads the Conference on 104. In each of the past 3 years one person has made the hundred in 3 weeks. Before this year the most centurions after 3 weeks was 2, way back in 1995.
An Apology to AP
In week one AP’s kicker Olindo Mare was awarded 5 points for 5 PAT’s scored. Infact Miami scored 7 TD’s against Detroit. The Chief was obviously confused by this sudden outburst from the Dolphin offense - it must have been some lie surely, but no the Fish scored another 30 points this week against the Jets and have now totalled 100 points in three games, even Johnny has been heard to utter disbelief at this offensive outpouring.
Trading Day 1
As mentioned before Trading Day 1 is on Saturday October 5th at 7pm at BUMS HQ. If you’re unhappy with some of your players this is the chance to replace them. If you cannot make the evening and do want to change someone let me know and we’ll sort out the easiest way for you to select your favourite replacement. As previous years the person with the lowest score will make all their cuts first followed by second lowest etc. This is regardless of division so as it stands Dave G will make the first cuts. After everyone has cut all their rejects the first player then selects a replacement followed by the second owner etc in a normal drafting manner. This goes on until all rosters are restocked within the salary cap. Any player cut by one owner can be signed by another. If you cut a franchise player you’ll still have to pay his salary until the end of the contract. As well as the existing player pool look out for the new players who will be added to next Monday. These include all players not on the original list who have scored during the first 4 weeks of the season.
BUMS on Seats
On Wednesday we’ll be back at H’s in Perivale to see the MNF Tampa Bay/St Louis clash from C5’s Tuesday night’s coverage. We’ll be rolling the Video Tape at the earlier time of around 6:30pm. Then next Sunday we are at Johnny’s from 9pm for Sky’s coverage of two unbeaten teams the New England Patriots at the San Diego Chargers.
