2002 Season - Week 12

A Right Bobby DAZler

The bar of BUMS genius has been raised. In an outstanding weekends scoring Daz put together the highest total ever beating the mark of 60 shared by the Bowden Brothers since 1999. His running backs combined for 30 points as Ricky Williams scored 2 and Stephen Davis 3 TD’s. Added to his kicker John Hall’s 7 points and QB Tom Brady’s 9 Daz entered the Hall of Fame when his Head Coach saw the Bears beat Detroit in OT. This left Daz on 52 points with just new pick up Jerry Porter to play in the late games. The Oakland receiver did not disappoint scoring twice as the total finished at a Daz-tastic 64 points. His second ever Hall of Fame score leapt Daz from the drop spots up into 5th place. Talking of the Hall of Fame last week Phil joined David Stamp in only the second time ever that two owners have made the Hall on the same week. This year has now seen 8 visits surpassing the previous best of 6 set back in 1999, and we’ve still got 5 weeks left to play. Offensive Overload Last week saw a combined BUMS total of 475 points scored the 3rd highest weekly total ever and 5th highest average at 29.69 points per owner. This week we sit on 407 with two games and twenty players left to play. Marcus Picks Up Two More Following last week’s rash of injuries Marcus’ receiver Az-Zahir Hakim was placed on Injured Reserve with a dislocated and fractured hip, as was his first year franchise kicker Todd Peterson with broken ribs. Marcus was allowed to replace both but will have to pay Peterson his 0.5m salary both this year and next. In their place he signed Buc’s kicker Martin ‘Automatica’ Gramatica and Jets wideout Laveraneus Coles. BUMS on Seats Tonight from 7pm the Sunday night game (Indianapolis @ Denver) is at Johnny’s, then on Friday at 12noon we are at BUMS HQ for the two traditional Thanksgiving games (New England at Detroit and The Redskins at The Cowboys). Cheryl is preparing the Turkey and trimmings so if you are coming but haven’t let us know yet shout quickly as she needs to finalise numbers by Wednesday. Then next Sunday we are back at Johnny’s from 9pm for our first chance to see the expansion Houston Texans as they take on The Colts.
