Draftermath 2002

The Experts Choice

Saturday saw the combined brilliance of the BUMS select 100 players to mould the top teams in Fantasy Football. I hope you got who you wanted but if not you should be able to make amends at one of the 2 trading days, October 5th and November 16th. The draft is attached and has been analysed by 7 NFL Fantasy Experts including ESPN, CBS, FoxSports and Gill Brandt the NFL Fantasy expert. They have reported back on our draft and for the second year have pronounced Johnny to have the best team. Given 1 point for the highest rated player at each position, 2 for second and so on Johnny’s team totalled just 94 points. Proving that you pay for what you get John Botten’s team is seen as the biggest outsiders totalling 232 expert points. AP is the experts choice to win the Conference. See attached Draftermath table which also ranks the teams based on last years scores. This Year Last Year Looking at how this years teams shape up based on the 2001 scores Phil appears to have picked the best team with a team total of 527 (2001 points). In the Premiership Dave G will win, his team scoring 510 points. As mentioned the full table is attached and shows the team selected by new man Ron is the lowest scoring, but it does include one rookie and two players who missed considerable playing time last year. A Papas Fritas Full of Rejects Despite 128 players now being signed to BUMS contracts there is a team of unchosen players who would have comfortably beaten Marcus’ championship winning 481 points. The unwanted team are QB Jay Fiedler (84), RB Stacey Mack (60) and Zack Crockett (36), Receivers Kevin Johnson (54), Jimmy Smith (48) and Dave Sloan (42), Kicker Paul Edinger (112) and Coach Bill Belichick (66). For £10m this team scored 502 points last year. Most Fancied NFL Teams Unsurprisingly the St Louis high octane offence had 8 players selected onto BUMS rosters. Denver have also had 8 players selected while Tennessee had 7 and Indianapolis, Green Bay and New Orleans had 6 each. Dallas were the only team to have nobody selected (not even Joey Galloway) whilst Jacksonville and Houston had just 1 player each. BUMS on Seats So the scene is set for Sundays Sky doubleheader starting at 5:30pm at BUMS HQ for Atlanta @ Green Bay followed by 16 BUMS players on view as the Broncos host the Rams. Monday Night Games (C5 early Wed) will be recorded & we’ll get together on Wednesday evenings to watch them as live so scores will be sent out on Monday and updated later in the week. The first MNF game is Pittsburgh @ New England. Remember the first game of the season is on Thursday Night as The Giants host San Francisco in the Kick Off Classic.
