2001 Season - Week 8

Aaron heading for Shame

Unless Denver TE Desmond Clark scores on the Monday Night Game Aaron will become the third Cooper to be ushered into the Hall of Shame following Marcus (week 5 1998) and Gareth (week 7 1999). With his kicker and one WR on bye weeks and first draft pick Fred Taylor still out injured his other 4 players failed to score on Sunday, Aaron Brooks being intercepted twice in the end zone by the Jets. The result of this is that John Botten has climbed 2 points above Aaron leaving our youngest member in last place. Premiership or Conference Top scores this week by AP (35) and Phil (32) have eased their relegation worries as they close the gap on those above. Remember 11th or higher will put you in the Premiership next year, 12th or lower dooms you to the Conference. Is the two Division System working? The aim is to keep everyone involved for as long as possible and John Botten feels it has kept his interest. Already 120 points behind the leader, John feels his chance of winning the Papas Fritas has gone but being 26 points behind 11th place leaves him with a good chance of escaping the drop. Trading Day 2 is 11 days away. Saturday November 18th at 8pm should be in your diary. Remember this is the key time to make decisions that could win make you the Champion, keep you in the Top Division or provide you with a Franchise Player to take you to Papas Fritas glory for the next two years - ask Mark about Marshall Faulk in 1999 and 2000. If you can’t make it let me know and we will sort out alternative arrangements. I’ve already heard from some of you. After this Trading Day you will be able to cut any BUMS player placed on Injured Reserve by their NFL club and replace him with someone from the same position. Sunday and Monday Night Football 7:30pm on Wednesday at Andy H’s is the Monday Night Game between Oakland and Denver. This Sunday, November 11th sees a Sky Doubleheader at BUMS HQ. At 6pm it’s Green Bay @ Chicago followed by New Orleans @ San Francisco. Channel 5 will start to show the Sunday Night Game live from this week Oakland @ Seattle and we will record it and watch it on Monday evening. That means there are 4 live NFL games on TV this week, that’s as many as you’d see in America. From now on Monday scores will not include Sunday or Monday Night games, these being marked with an S or M. (Not S & M Cheryl!)
