2001 Season - Week 2
Cancelled Games Will Be Played
The NFL has announced that all the games scheduled for last Sept 16th & 17th (originally week 2) will now be played on the weekend of Jan 5th-7th. This was originally scheduled to be the Wild Card weekend. The NFL plan to move all of the postseason back a week but need to negotiate moving the Superbowl back to Feb 3rd before confirming these plans. The games played yesterday and tonight are now officially called week 2 games and the postponed games now on Jan 5th-7th will be week 17.
Trading Day Remains Unaltered
Despite the postponement of last weekends games, Trading Day 1 remains scheduled for 4pm, Sunday 14th October prior to a Sky Doubleheader which could feature Baltimore @ Green Bay or Tampa Bay @ Tennessee followed by Miami @ The Jets or Denver @ Seattle.
Trading Day 2 will be the weekend of November 17th-18th.
This is good news for owners with injured players as the NFL will have played only 4 weeks prior to your ability to cut your injured. Also owners can cut those players who are under performing, Randy Moss anybody? Presently Dave G has lost WR Ed McCaffrey for the season, John saw his franchise running back Jamal Lewis ruled out for the year before the season began, Johnny has lost Mr Injury (Terrell Davis) for 4-6 weeks and Phil has lost his kicker Steve Christie for the year.
Hall Of Shame
Talking of Phil he faces the infamy of booking a spot in the Hall of Shame. With just his Head Coach Mike Sherman (Green Bay) to play Phil has still yet to score a point this week. If Green Bay lose Phil will join Paul, Marcus, Gareth & inaugural member John in the Hall.
Website update
The BUMS website is the best way to follow injury news on your own players as well as the first place to see the updated league table. Remember CBS don’t score Head Coaches so they have to are added in by the Chief. Save it as a favourite www.fantasy.sportsline.com
Monday Night Football
Washington @ Green Bay will be watched as live at H’s on Wednesday from 7:30pm. As in previous years the league table will be produced without the MNF scoring.
