2000 Season - Week 14 (Cont)
Turner Stood Down
Following their loss to The Giants which saw the Billion Dollar Boys Club aka Washington Redskins fall to 7-6 the axe finally fell on Cheryls Head Coach. As Norv was cut he could in theory be signed by another team so Cheryl cannot replace him.
H Takes Over At The Top
This week Andy H has taken over the lead of the league but it could be short lived as Paul has two players playing in the Monday Night Game. Phil will also be looking for some scores from his two Monday Night players and although the Papas Fritas could still go to 9 owners Gully and Dave G cannot afford a repeat of this weeks performance and Mark needs to turn his slide around (just 51 points in the last 5 weeks).
It’ll be a BUMS Christmas
This year some fool has only gone and put Christmas Eve on Sunday December 24th. Do they not realise it’ll clash with the final NFL Sunday of the season. With the race for the Papas Fritas Trophy going down to the wire the powers at Sky have decided to hold an Xmas Doubleheader starting at 6pm. Although I appreciate most of you will be off to the Christmas Carol Service and hanging up the little’uns stockings The Coopers invite you all over to Langley for a Christmas gathering. Call me the Gridiron Grinch if you will but Cheryl is keen to see the Rams against the Saints in a game which could decide the NFC West. Other key games that night include NY Jets at Baltimore and Minnesota at Indianapolis.
Now we have to work out what we will do the following Sunday which will be the second Wildcard Doubleheader, apparently December 31st will be New Years Eve this year.
BUMS on TV
This Wednesday at H’s from 7:30pm to see two teams going no where - Kansas City (5-7) @ New England (3-9). On Sunday we’re back at HQ at 9pm to see if the Rams can recover from their 3 game slide against the best in the NFL Minnesota Vikings.
