2000 Season - Week 9

Mark breaks BUMS rule 7.14

2 weeks ago the gathered BUMS instigated a new rule- 7.14. The rule states that any BUMS owner who has regularly attended BUMS gatherings should be present when his top scorers are shown on TV. Should he not be present for such a game he will forfeit any points those players score if their scores total over 25 points -half way to the Hall of Fame. Sadly as Mark was too busy doing what Mark does these Sunday’s (something in South London we believe) he missed the Rams 49’ers game and therefore loses Marshall Faulk’s 4 TD’s and Terrell Owens 2 TD’s. Sadly the deduction of these 36 points prevented Mark from totalling a 52 point week and becoming the first player this season to enter the scoring Hall of Fame. Had Mark made it he would have become the first owner to have made 4 separate appearances in the Hall of Fame - but sadly he broke rule 7.14 and only recorded a 16 point week. Maybe this will spur him on and we will see him soon. Trading Day 2 Approaches Saturday week, November 11th is the designated day for you to make your final team changes ready for the last third of the season. We will be meeting at BUMS Central to cut our unwanted players (could be Chiefs whole team) from 7:30pm. If you can make it please let us know so Cheryl can organise catering. We had a laugh last trading day so even if you don’t want to change anyone come on over and chew the fat with your fellow BUMS. (And let us know your secret of how to pick the perfect team!) Who is Number One ? In college football the aim is to be voted the best in the nation. Since 1995 the mighty Florida State Seminoles have been number 1 for more weeks than any other college and last year became the first team ever to be number 1 from the start to the finish of the season. This prompted Mark to ask me to produce one of those charts that I know you all love detailing how many weeks each BUM has been ranked number 1 in our league table since we started in 1995. See attached - now I wonder why Mark asked? BUMS on TV This Wednesday evening we are back at Johnny’s in North Harrow to watch to two top teams battle as the 6-2 Washington Redskins host the 6-1 Tennessee Titans. Could this be a preview of the Superbowl? On Sunday we are at H’s for the AFC West top of the table clash as Kansas City (5-3) travel to the AFC best 7-1 Oakland Raiders.
